Temporary Child Care Assistant (Maternity Relief)

Forming part of the Gwydir Daycare and Preschool Team, within the Corporate Services Department you will assist in providing high quality care for families of the Moree Plains Shire. This position has become available due to the permanent incumbent accessing maternity leave. This position is full-time 38 hours per week for up to 11 months with the proposed commencement in the position May/June 2020.

As a Childcare Assistant, you are expected to be an active member of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children.

To be successful in this position you must be 18 years of age or older and have the ability to relate in a positive and caring manner and meet the individual needs of children ranging in ages 8 weeks to 5 years.  The successful applicant must also have a Certificate III in Children Services and have a current Working with Children Check number.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017, Band 1 Level 3 Grade 4 Step 1 $914.45 – Grade 5 Step 3 $1,022.15. 

It is an offence under the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998, for a person convicted of a serious sex offence to apply for this position.
