About the Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity for a technically strong Financial Accountant to support the Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting to both internal and external parties, as well as building effective relationships with departmental colleagues and business partners. 

Based in Brisbane, you will be part of the Corporate Finance Team which provides key support to numerous areas across the business, as well as general accounting advice to business units, and ad hoc support to the group CFO.

To succeed in this role you will ideally be a Big 4 trained CA or CPA with 2 – 3 years experience and a passion for Financial Accounting. Exposure to large corporate life and FMCG industry would be an advantage. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills alongside advanced Excel skills, exposure to a large ERP system and a strong focus on detail. Previous experience of Hyperion will be considered an advantage. Past exposure to group related finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives will also be highly regarded.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Month-end financial accounting duties including general ledger account reviews and reconciliations;
  • Timely preparation and compilation of monthly Head Office reporting packages;
  • Provision of accounting support to various corporate functions as required;
  • Assistance in preparation of annual Statutory Accounts;
  • Effective stakeholder management, including lending institutions, suppliers and auditors;
  • Ensure compliance with policy, statutory and accounting standard requirements; and
  • Other ad hoc duties.
