Venues Booking Officer 21 hrs/wk

Maternity Leave Cover up to 31 March 2020

 

About the role

This position has an emphasis on excelling in customer service and is responsible for the operation, marketing, and administration of Council’s community venues for hire that includes town halls, community halls, meeting rooms and community buses throughout the local government area.

You will assist the team in consistently working to meet its targets and commitments against the team work and performance plans and Council’s Operational and Strategic Plans. You will facilitate partnerships across Council.

You will be community focused and work collaboratively with Venues Supervisor, and Community Facilities Coordinator, to ensure the success of the service unit.

Salary

$38,715 p.a. - $44,329 p.a. + super for 21 hours/week (equivalent to $64,525 p.a. to $73,8822 p.a. @ full time)

Key duties

  • Coordinate the hirers agreements for community venues and meeting rooms and community buses, including conducting expression of interest processes, client liaison and internal collaboration to ensure that agreements are administered. 
  • Undertake the administration needs of the community venues, meeting rooms and community buses, including coordination of the booking system, bonds and insurance requirements for the hire of community facilities. 
  • Contribute to the development of Council policies and procedures relating to the equitable and appropriate use of community venues and community buses.

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

  • Significant experience providing business administration support in a customer focused community services environment.
  • Knowledge and skills in contemporary venue, facility, and community bus management practices hire, including administration of bookings and budgeting.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Well developed ICT skills, including demonstrated experience with electronic booking systems, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, customer request management systems and an ability to learn new systems.
