Have you always dreamed of working for Australia’s famous aeromedical health service but do not meet the Flight Nurse position requirements to be endorsed as a Midwife?
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is offers nursing midwifery scholarship. The funds awarded are intended to offer financial assistance toward completion of a midwifery course.
The successful applicant will be required to complete the midwifery course and then work for a minimum of 12 months at any base within the RFDS (Qld Section) (nominated by the RFDS).
Who can apply?
- Registered nurses who have relevant experience or qualifications in emergency or critical care nursing are invited to apply for a midwifery scholarship as advertised.
- Scholarships are for study commencing/commenced
- Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia
Selection Criteria:
- Registered as a General Nurse in Australia with AHPRA.
- Post graduate experience including a minimum three to five years’ experience in a critical care environment in either a recognised Major Regional or Tertiary Hospital Emergency Department, with a 24 hour in-department medical coverage or a recognised Intensive Care Unit. The required time can consist of critical care experience across both environments.
- Acceptance into a relevant midwifery course conducted by an approved and accredited provider.
- A willingness to work at any RFDS (Qld Section) upon successful completion of the midwifery studies.
