SDN Children’s Services is a not-for profit organisation that has been providing quality early childhood education and care since 1905. We are proud of our long history in teacher education and the provision of children’s services.

SDN is one of only a few community-based organisations that has been operating in Australia for more than 100 years. SDN has survived many challenges, including two world wars and the Great Depression, and grown into one of Australia’s most respected children’s services organisations. 

We not only run child care centres, but also provide the following services:

  • high quality, inclusive early childhood education and care
  • early childhood intervention for children with disabilities
  • family support services for children at risk of significant harm and parenting programs
  • resources and mentoring for practitioners and other agencies
  • Aboriginal training and employment support.

About The Roles

We have several Early Childhood Teacher roles available at the following centres:

Rooty Hill - Beranga is our autism specific centre.  We are looking for a Room Leader to start asap until 6/11/17

Lithgow - Permanent part time ECT required to work Thursday and Fridays

Paddington - Permanent full time role in the 4-5 years room we need an experienced ECT to start asap

Surry Hills - located close to central station this is an Educational Leader role in the infants space

Ultimo -  Full time permanent Room Leader role in the babies room.

 

 About You

  • University qualifications in early childhood education with BOSTES accreditation
  • Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Excellent understanding of current early childhood practice that is informed by the Early Years Learning Framework, and naturalistic, responsive early childhood intervention practices.
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Standards and the implications for centres
  • Sound understanding of the development of children, their health, hygiene and nutritional needs
  • Commitment and skill in providing quality and appropriate experiences and inviting learning environments for children
  • Understanding of current pedagogical thinking and research
  • Current First Aid certificate
