About The Role.   

As an Early Childhood Assistant you will bring your passion for working with children to our supportive team to provide quality education and care services. You will work with a team of dedicated educators to create a stimulating, positive and inclusive environment that reflects the Early Years Learning Framework whilst maintaining the elements of the National Quality Standards (NQS). You will assist in the observation and evaluation of children’s development to support their learning outcomes. You will also engage with families and the community. 

We have two roles available working out of our Mosman centre:

1)  Part time inclusion support contract starting asap till December 2017 working 3 days pw (Monday, Thursday & Friday)

2)  Full time maternity leave cover role in the infants room, starting 13/3/17 (or thereabouts) till 17/4/18.

 

About The Centre

SDN Mosman has been part of the Mosman Community since 1944, and owns and runs a 43 place centre catering for children from 6 weeks to five years. The centre is located in a quiet street in Mosman, with off street parking and is very close to public transport. The centre is well resourced and has a large outdoor area with a riverbed, large trees and a herb garden.

 

About You

The right candidate for this role will have the following: 

  • A Certificate III in Children’s Services
  • A Working with Children Check clearance number 
  • Experience in a similar role
  • The ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to child safety and comply with the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998.
