About the Opportunity

SSI is seeking a full-time Marketing Operations Specialist for our Victoria, BC location to work in an Agile business environment. Appreciation of and experience working in an Agile business environment will enhance the fit for this role. Familiarity with the methods (EG: Scrum ScrumBan and Kanban), the major roles (EG: Scrum Master and Product Owner) and the productivity platforms related to Agile (Jira Server or Jira Cloud) will allow the successful candidate to hit the ground running.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing data-driven initiatives to maximize the efficiency of marketing campaigns working closely with the Director of Marketing and the Marketing team to support database maintenance, email marketing campaigns and overall engagement of key accounts. Expertise in HubSpot will be critical as this is SSI Marketing’s primary marketing automation tool. Familiarity with Maximizer specifically or CRMs in general will also be an asset. Familiarity with Power BI will also be an asset.

The role of the Marketing Specialist at SSI reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing and is primarily responsible for ensuring successful deployment of digital media campaigns, using state of the art tools designed to optimize the digital media marketing effort.  The successful candidate will not only contribute in their area of expertise but will also have cross-functional responsibilities supporting the teams efforts across various digital media platforms, blogs and websites, graphics and video creation.

As the Marketing Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for: 

  • Assist with and provide insights into campaign optimization, including data acquisition, list segmentation, data cleanliness and integrity within CRM and HubSpot databases
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing to enhance and optimize campaign engagement and process automation, ensuring correct database segmentation
  • Leverage Maximizer/HubSpot to provide ongoing metrics in support of marketing campaign effectiveness
  • Work closely with the design and content teams to build effective emails and analyze those emails for optimization
  • Assist the Director of Marketing and the SSI Marketing team in the execution of end-to-end campaigns; develop cohesive automated workflows and pulling targeted lists
  • Generate and maintain dynamic reporting dashboards for ongoing contact acquisitions, campaign engagement, data assessment and other special reports.
  • Administration of team meetings, creating Jira tasks and stories and coordinating follow-up planning sessions.
  • Provide social media support to SSI staff and resellers upon request.
  • Work with other departments to create connection from HubSpot to SharePoint to Maximizer workflows.
  • Manage marketing technology stack and work with technology vendors

  • As an Agile marketing team, we put a high value on cross-functionality.  Each member has an area of specialization but must also be prepared to step in and support others on the team as and when necessary.  On the job training is encouraged to enhance cross-functionality where and when appropriate.  Teammates will mentor one another to that end.

Required skills

  • Degree(s) in Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
  • Experience with Web-based CMS/marketing automation tools and knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with marketing campaign analytics
  • Must possess 1-3 years of marketing experience (internship experience will be considered)
  • Data-driven marketer; highly analytical, organized and detail-oriented, self-starter
  • The candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be an innovative thinker, creative problem solver and effectively manage multiple on-going assignments in a fast paced, fluid environment

Good-to-haves/Education/Skills

Please note:  The successful candidate must be willing to work remotely within Canada with the eventual relocation to Victoria, BC, and either be a Canadian Citizen or hold a valid Canadian Permanent Residency or Work Permit.
