Apply your practical experience in Disability Employment and relevant qualifications. Workplace Assessors assist people living with a disability to experience success in the workforce by enhancing their employment participation by conducting:

  • Supported Wage Assessments
  • Ongoing Support Assessments
  • Workplace Modification Assessments

Successful candidates will need to be approved as a Workplace Assessor by a National Panel of Assessors within the Department of Social Services (DSS). STEPS will nominate suitable applicants.  For successful applicants, STEPS will provide training, mentoring and ongoing professional development through the support program offered by STEPS’ NPA National Team.

DO YOU HAVE

  • Practical Disability Employment experience (2 yrs+)
  • High level planning, prioritising and organisational skills to ensure timeframes are met
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly develop rapport and communicate with people with disabilities, professionals, employers and support networks
  • High level assessment and report writing skills
  • You can trade as a sub-contractor and hold a current Driving License; ABN/ACN; and can provide your own: reliable vehicle, access to mobile phone, computer/laptop, internet, printing/photocopying facilities
  • Essential Qualification:  Diploma or higher in either:
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Psychology
    • Rehabilitation Counselling
    Exercise Physiologist
    Vocational Training
    • Any other professional qualification relevant to providing assessment services
  • Desired Qualification:
    • Certificate IV in TAE40110
