About us

Hidden Vale Adventure Park (HVAP) at Grandchester near Ipswich brings a unique outdoor experience to the region, with a multi-use 60 plus kilometre trail network for mountain bike riders, runners and walkers, winding through an expansive 12000 acre Nature Refuge property. Operating out of the luxurious getaway, Spicers Hidden Vale, it’s the perfect way for guests and mountain biking enthusiasts to explore the great outdoors in this stunning location.

The Adventure Park is going through a two-stage expansion to be completed in early 2017 which presents an exciting opportunity for an Operations Lead to join the team in this newly created pivotal role supporting the General Manager in delivering and growing a sustainable and profitable outdoors adventure business.

 

The Role

The functions of this role are diverse and best of all “fun” and will include:

  • Mountain bike guiding – proving orientation into Hidden Vale Adventure Park, interacting with guests, guiding and providing bike instruction to guests. Sharing knowledge of the park trails and conditions promoting visitor safety.
  • Bike trail maintenance – general upkeep of bike trails including shovelling, mowing, removal of debris. Schedule and perform daily, weekly trail network checks.
  • Bike mechanics – general upkeep, repair, servicing, cleaning and maintenance of our mountain bike rentals and assisting guests with repairs to their own bikes.
  • Mountain bike patrol – 4WD and ATV patrol, responding to any reported emergencies and administering appropriate first aid/care to guests as required.
  • Epic Events Management - Event setup and administration, hosting of events on property.

To be considered for the role you must possess:

  • Strong business acumen and ability to execute business plans
  • Similar industry experience at a senior level
  • A proactive approach to seeking new revenue opportunities to grow business
  • Current CPR and emergency First Aid qualifications
  • 4WD and ATV driving experience preferred
  • Bicycle mechanics experience required
