We are seeking a talented a hospitality professional with management experience to lead our team of busy baristas, chefs and service team at our Queen Elizabeth Hospital site on a permanent full time basis.

The Company:
Our Australian operations, under which 7 brands currently operate, are rapidly expanding and WHSmith is expected to continue this growth.
Food by WHSmith currently operate a large number of cafés under our "Fresh+" brand in hospitals across NSW, QLD, and SA, providing food, beverages, and convenience retail to hospital staff and the general public. We are now looking for a talented hospitality professional with strong management experience to take on this established site at Queen Elizabeth Hospital as the Chef Manager.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide management and guidance to the front and back of house team, ensuring a smooth running operation
- Manage the rosters, recruitment, performance and morale of the team
- Strong front of house presence including interaction with customers and hospital staff
- Pre-service preparation
- Full knowledge of and ability to cook all menu items (basic cafe-style food).
- Implement a controlled menu range
- Full oversight of Store compliance activities including food safety, WHS and quality
- End to end stock management including: stock control, ordering, stock take and analysis
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with hospital administration, customers and the community
- Improve store profitability by driving sales and margins whilst adhering to wage and general expenditure budget
Skills & Experience:
- At least 2 years experience in management of both front and back of house operations in a Café environment.
- Experience leading a Team
- You will have awesome customer service skills and a personality to match
- Ideally have experience as a manager of a similar type establishment
- You will have barista and kitchen operations experience (trade qualifications highly desirable)
- You will excellent business acumen
- Ability to work autonomously
- Hold a current food safety supervisors certificate
- Computer literate - intermediate in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Power Point and Excel
- Knowledge of busy food outlet operations with a focus on sales and service
- Food Safety Supervisor certification
- Experience managing stock control and costs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
