We are currently seeking a motivated and professional Commercial Finance Manager to provide leadership to the Commercial Finance team and create meaningful data driven insights.

Scope of Position:


This is an exciting and dynamic leadership role within the Finance function and focuses on all aspects of commercial finance and data analytics. In addition to the monthly management account cycle larger projects will be managed whilst balancing the demands of a fast-paced finance environment. Three direct reports make good management essential to the roles success.   

Role and Responsibilities:


  • Monthly P&L Reporting with insightful narrative to strict deadlines
  • Forecasting revenue and margin with the support of the trading team and bridging all major movements.
  • Partner with Trading and Operational teams including questioning and challenging business partners in order to drive operational and financial performance.
  • Provide input into financial due diligence as required by Business Development for acquisitions, renewals or greenfields.
  • Monitor and report on key cost lines within the P&L e.g. staff and occupancy costs
  • Provide commercial analysis and insight on key trading initiatives e.g. pricing, promotions, NPD etc.
  • Manage Risk and Ops process between forecasts
  • Work with Merchandise Planner to ensure stock is tightly controlled
  • Provide hands-on coaching and support to finance team and internal stakeholders to ensure knowledge growth and common understanding.
  • Train and motivate team to achieve individual and team objectives
  • Liaise with external auditors as necessary during the year end audit
  • Present to Senior managers on a regular basis
  • Ad hoc reporting when required

Skills & Experience:


  • Be qualified with 3 - 5 years post qualification experience
  • CPA or CA qualification required
  • Background in Retail, FMCG or the Big 4.
  • Strong data analytics skills
  • Have good Management and business partnering skills
  • Proven coaching skills
  • Process improvement experience
  • Able to prioritise and manage own workload
