About the role

Bank First now has an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced Mobile Lending Specialist to join their team based in Melbourne.

In this role, your main responsibility will be to secure residential home loan funding and cross sales by visiting potential clients at their place of business /home to discuss their mortgage needs.

More specifically, some of your day-to-day duties will include;

  • Attending mobile lending appointments to secure home loan applications and opportunities for cross sales;
  • Managing follow-ups and pending files within an acceptable timeframe;
  • Accurately processing member requests within an acceptable timeframe whilst adhering to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures;
  • Preparing loan files through to various stages including valuation, LMI, finalising for handover to the settlements team;
  • Attending and presenting home loan seminars, school visits, and conferences where required; and
  • Business development as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold demonstrated experience in a similar position, lending support role, or equivalent plus have experience working in a mobile / remote working environment.

Candidates who have previously completed FSRA training to a Tier 2 level and/or a degree in finance, business or equivalent or a Certificate IV in Mortgage Lending will be held in high regard.

Many client appointments will need to be conducted outside of business hours e.g. 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. As such you will need to have the ability to be flexible in regards to your working hours. 

Due to this role being mobile/remote based, candidates must be self-motivated, disciplined, and have exceptional organisational skills. While you are able to design your own working hours, Bank First requires you to work from the Hawthorn East branch once a week to create new leads via walk-in clients and catch up on administrative work.

While you are provided with qualified leads, effective business development skills will be advantageous.

You will also need to have sound Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

It is crucial that you display excellent attention to detail in your work, are professionally presented, and are confident and approachable to your approach with clients.
