With over 30 staff and up to 400 patrons on a busy night, Katherine Country Club has experienced exponential growth in the past 10 years and as a result, now has a newly created, full-time opportunity for a Business Operations Manager to join their team and help drive the operational efficiencies of the business. 

Working closely with the General Manager, your primary focus will be to assess, monitor and implement new financial controls for the Club to ensure it is operating as efficiently as possible, whilst maximising financial returns and adhering to regulatory compliance.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Coordinating all required reporting for the Club Board, including WH&S, HR, operations and gaming;
  • Reviewing current pricing, purchasing and rostering functions and implementing process changes if/as required;
  • Overseeing all aspects of stock control for the bar, including the continued implementation of a purchase order system;
  • Supporting the GM to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance in all aspects of the Club; and
  • Managing the HR and IR functions in the business including recruitment, induction, training, performance management and related documentation.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have extensive experience in a management/operations capacity in the hospitality or tourism industries, ideally gained within a similar venue. Any qualifications in venue management, business administration or finance will be highly regarded, but are not mandatory providing you can demonstrate the above experience.

You will have a proven track record in managing staff and a sound understanding of licensing requirements, including gaming and liquor, and the ability and willingness to implement process change as required, to ensure compliance.

Critical to your success in this role will be a strong commercial acumen and the ability to analyse and adjust financial controls, particularly in relation to pricing and stock purchasing. You will have well-developed problem-solving, negotiation and conflict management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and function under pressure.

Finally, the Club is looking for an excellent communicator, who is comfortable providing written and verbal reports to the Board as required, and willing and able to integrate themselves into life in a remote location.

Prior to commencement you will need to obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate, Responsible Service of Gambling Certificate, a Machine Managers License, and Keno and TAB/Ubet Certificates. If you do not currently hold these, Katherine Country Club will assist in this process.
