About the Opportunity

Bank First now has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Senior Treasury Analyst to join their team based in Hawthorn East, in Melbourne's inner suburbs.

Reporting to the Head of Treasury and sitting within the Treasury and Finance teams, you will perform Treasury middle office and occasional front office functions, creating best in breed processes, systems and value-added analysis and reporting. This will include delivering on internal and external compliance requirements and analysis of liquidity, funding and interest rate risk management strategies. 

More specifically, some of your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Performing Treasury middle and front office activities arising from Bank First's liquid asset portfolio, including daily cash management and reporting;
  • Ensuring compliance to policy and providing support in compiling the data for the Bank’s internal securitization, daily and monthly reporting process, including the annual uplift as directed by the Head of Treasury; 
  • Collating Treasury related reports, particularly monthly net interest margin analysis reports and other key financial/statistical reports for the Head of Treasury including ALCO and Financial Risk reports; and
  • Development of financial models and management reporting.

About You

To be considered for this position you must be a tertiary qualified accountant that holds, or is working towards, a CA or CPA qualification, AND have demonstrated experience conducting high-level analysis and reporting in a banking or financial institution.

Previous experience working in a Treasury accounting role and/or tertiary qualifications in Finance or similar, will be highly regarded.

One of the biggest challenges of this position is keeping up to date with regulatory reporting. As such, you will need to have a sound understanding of APRA compliance requirements and be hands-on in the collation of reporting data. You will have excellent communication skills, particularly in report writing and representation at a senior level, and be capable of applying both a strategic and detailed understanding of financial matters. 

This role would be well-suited to an analyst with 2-3 years experience who is interested in pursuing career progression opportunities within Treasury in the near future, but still comfortable performing the compliance and reporting functions required of the role.
