About the Organisation

Lung Foundation Australia is a national, not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Their vision is to ensure that lung health is a priority for all in Australia and to promote lung health by:

  • Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
  • Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
  • Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
  • Raising funds for medical and scientific research.

The Lung Foundation Australia National Office employs about 25 professional/administrative staff, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers. 

About the Opportunity

Lung Foundation Australia now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Information and Support Coordinator to join their team in Milton, Brisbane. 

Reporting to the Information and Support Manager, you will be responsible for providing information, support and referral on the Information and support line as well as providing administrative support within the organisation as required.

More specifically, duties will include:

  • Providing general information and support via free call service (this service does not provide medical advice or counselling);
  • Referring callers to internal and external patient support groups, peer matching services, rehabilitation services, education webinars and seminars, Lung Cancer Support Nurse and other community support organisations;
  • Managing email enquiries;
  • Booking events and seminars and assisting at the events as required; and
  • Packing disease-specific information and resources and mailing them out to patients, carers and health professionals.

In addition, this role will involve continued upskilling in CRM and other software to ensure you are able to assist others and be a point of contact in this area.

About You 

Due to the nature of the role, Lung Foundation Australia is looking for someone who has a high attention to detail, has an excellent phone manner and genuinely enjoys engaging with others.

You'll maintain a strong focus on excellent customer service, with strong interpersonal skills that ensure your ability to build relationships with people of a variety of backgrounds while exhibiting empathy and resilience when dealing with tough conversations over the phone.

You will need strong organisational skills, the ability to multitask and will enjoy working in a varied environment with diverse responsibilities. Importantly you'll be a self-starter, able to work autonomously and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. Your initiative and desire to embrace new things will ensure you develop a successful career with Lung Foundation Australia.

Experience with Salesforce or other CRM's is not essential but will be highly regarded.
