About the Organisation
Lung Foundation Australia is a national, not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Their vision is to ensure that lung health is a priority for all in Australia and to promote lung health by:
- Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
- Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
- Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
- Raising funds for medical and scientific research.
The Lung Foundation Australia National Office employs about 25 professional/administrative staff, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
About the Opportunity
Lung Foundation Australia now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Rare Lung Disease Coordinator to join their team in Milton, Brisbane.
Reporting to the General Manager of Thoracic Cancers and Rare Lung Disease, you will be responsible for providing information and administration support as well as managing and coordinating projects relevant to Lung Foundation programs.
More specifically, duties will include:
- Liaising with a range of key stakeholders, nurses, allied health professionals, patients and consumers;
- Assisting the Events Facilitator with various events and programs such as Pulmonary Fibrosis and Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness programs;
- Providing administration support including reporting and statistics;
- Coordinating general and clinical meetings as well as minute taking; and
- Providing input into social media and newsletter strategies.
About You
Due to the nature of the role, Lung Foundation Australia is looking for someone who is well-spoken, personable and genuinely enjoys engaging with others. You'll maintain a strong focus on excellent customer service, with a great phone manner and strong interpersonal skills that ensure your ability to build relationships with people of a variety of backgrounds.
You will need strong organisational skills and an adaptable approach to your work; you'll be able to multitask and will enjoy working in a varied environment with diverse responsibilities.
Any health science, public health/NFP environment or project-based experienced is not essential, but will be highly regarded.
Importantly you'll be a self-starter, able to work autonomously and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. Your initiative and desire to embrace new things will ensure you develop a successful career with Lung Foundation Australia.
