About the Organisation
Lung Foundation Australia is a national, not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Their vision is to ensure that lung health is a priority for all in Australia and to promote lung health by:
- Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
- Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
- Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
- Raising funds for medical and scientific research.
The Lung Foundation Australia nationally employs about 25 professional/administrative staff, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
About the Opportunity
Lung Foundation Australia is now seeking a full-time Events Officer to join their dedicated team in Milton, Brisbane.
Reporting to the GM - Operations, this brand new role will see you leading the development, coordination, management and implementation of a range of key annual events and ad-hoc events, including the prestigious biennial Lung Cancer Conference, the annual fundraising Gala Dinner and Cycle Challenge, and a number of smaller professional education events held across Australia.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include:
- Developing, producing and delivering projects from proposal to execution;
- Delivering events on time, within budget, that meet and exceed expectations;
- Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project;
- Communicating, maintaining and developing client relationships, and managing supplier relationships;
- Managing operational and administrative functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently;
- Travelling to on-site inspections and project managing events;
- Taking responsibility for all project budgets from start to finish; and
- Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery.
About You
The successful candidate will possess significant experience in the planning / management of events of all sizes. This will ensure your ability to take a brief regarding what your key stakeholders want in their events, and nail the execution every time. Although not essential, qualifications in Event Management or similar will be highly regarded.

Due to the nature of this role, it is imperative you be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines. Any experience in Salesforce would be a bonus.
Please Note: This role will require the successful candidate to travel regularly depending on the event schedule.
