Based in Mildura, VIC, Lower Murray Water's (LMW) core business is to meet the present and future needs of their customers and the community by providing reliable and secure water services.
Their area of operation extends from Kerang in Victoria to the South Australian border taking in the municipalities of Mildura, Swan Hill, and Gannawarra. Their services include providing the region with urban water and wastewater services, treatment and effluent disposal services, river quality water to stock and irrigation customers, along with the collection and disposal of subsurface irrigation drainage water.
About the Opportunity
This is a full-time contract position for an experienced Strategic Asset Planner to join their team in Mildura, Vic.
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Asset Planning your main responsibility will be to set the vision for asset management within the organisation as well as the development of an ISO55001 certified asset management system. You will drive engagement, continuous improvement and innovation in the asset management field, with the overall goal to improve asset reliability and efficiency of renewal/replacement programs.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Developing and planning the Asset Management Strategy and policies and Asset Class Plans;
- Management of asset condition and compliance audits including effective communication of audit reporting to senior management;
- Planning preventative maintenance programs to meet optimised asset O&M;
- Life-cycle management and maintenance planning; and
- Providing access to, and digital solutions for, sharing asset information.

About You
To be considered for this position you will hold tertiary qualifications in engineering/business/finance or equivalent and have extensive experience in a senior/managerial role within asset management. Any experience gained within the water or utilities industry, will be highly regarded.
The Strategic Asset Planner has direct responsibility for approximately 6 direct reports. The ability to engage your team through collaborative leadership and performance planning activities, will be a key component to the role.
You will have a strong commercial acumen, be strategically minded and place a high priority on future planning, whilst still being available to provide support at an operational level, as required.
Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to drive innovation will prove advantageous in this role, as will your ability to influence problem-solving where decisions have organisation-wide impact.
Please note: A current Driver's License is a mandatory requirement for this position.
