Careers Australia Institute of Training (CAIT) is the largest private provider of apprenticeship training in Australia and provides training in over 70 courses in apprenticeship based trades. Operating from South-East Queensland, CAIT is registered to offer courses in Automotive, Construction, Business Services, Engineering and Hospitality.
As well as providing employers and students with a continuous education stream and the ability to start vocational education and proceed through to full university qualifications if desired, CAIT is dedicated to significantly increasing the number of training places available in areas of skill shortage.
About the Opportunity
Careers Australia Institute of Training has a fantastic opportunity for a Carpentry Trainer to work from its training facilities on Brisbane's Northside. The primary focus of this role is to deliver high-quality carpentry training to a range of clients, including apprentices.
Some of your more specific duties/responsibilities will include:
- Teaching (including face-to-face delivery, demonstration of practical skills, and tutorials);
- Developing content and assessment to meet the needs/expectations of students;
- Establishing a blended and flexible learning environment that caters for a diverse client demographic;
- Providing student satisfaction questionnaires to students in week four of each semester;
- Completing attendance rolls and participation records according to compliance standards; and
- Integrating learning needs feedback results into the development of assessment and assessment tools.
The successful candidate must have significant experience within the carpentry industry and Certificate 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent.
Additionally, you must either hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment OR be working towards achieving it.
You should have effective communication and organisational skills, with the ability to deliver and assess training in the carpentry trade.
Applicants with a teaching / training background will be held in high regard (although this is definitely not mandatory). Similarly, post trade qualification are desirable (but not essential).
