THRIVE Child Development Centre is a non-profit Children’s Treatment Centre employing over 50 staff made up of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Social Workers, Therapy Assistants, Early Childhood Educators, and Administrative support staff. We provide inter-disciplinary pediatric rehabilitation, respite care coordination, an onsite inclusive child care program, and resource support to community child care centres in Sault Ste. About the Opportunity 

Thrive is currently seeking a Physiotherapist to join our dynamic, self-motivated group of healthcare professionals. This is a unique work experience for a physiotherapist who is interested in becoming a key member of a team that addresses the healthcare issues of children.

In this role, you will support children and youth in Sault Ste. Marie and the surrounding areas throughout the District of Algoma. Using a family-centred, strengths-based approach, you will join our experienced and dedicated professional staff to provide a range of assessment, intervention and community based services. This role can be based out of either our Sault Ste. Marie or Elliot Lake branch offices.

More specifically your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assessment and treatment for children in your caseload along with guidance for their parents, guardians, or related services.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of physiotherapy theory and practices through professional development, including participation in professional development teaching/learning opportunities with centre staff, teaching staff, or associated agencies.
  • Promoting and ensuring a safe workplace environment.
  • Communicating all matters of importance to appropriate members of the organization in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Representing the organization in various community activities and events such as committees, public speaking, presentations, and seminars. 

 If you are seeking a dynamic and challenging role in supporting the motor development of children and youth with a variety of physical, developmental and communicative challenges, this is the position for you.

To qualify for this role you must have either a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Physiotherapy and be eligible for membership in the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. You will also be required to hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle. The ability to provide services in both French and English would be considered an asset.

Our ideal candidate will have a valid First-Aid and CPR certificate. You will also possess excellent communication skills both verbally and written, while being a family-focused individual who truly enjoys working as part of a team.
