About the Organisation
IES Resources is a leading provider of transport logistics services and quarry products to Australia's resources sector, located throughout Western Australia and North Queensland. The division was created when IES acquired Kiernan Transport in Queensland and Gould Transport in Western Australia. IES operates across two major business lines - Bulk Transport and Quarry Products. These acquisitions have allowed IES to capitalise on the rapid growth in Australia's resources sector, and were easily integrated into IES, employing high occupational health and safety levels similar to those maintained by the IES Liquids (Cootes) business for many years.
Currently, IES as a group (including the Cootes business) operates a total fleet of approximately 400 trucks and employs approximately 1600 personnel in its global network. IES Resources employs approximately 400 in Australia and operates a fleet of up to 100 roadtrains.
About Cloncurry
The township of Cloncurry in North West Queensland occupies a key hub point in the Outback. Known as 'the friendly heart of the great north west', Cloncurry's core industries include mining services, grazing, transport and copper / gold mining. Qantas was conceived in Cloncurry and their aircraft hangar still stands at Cloncurry Shire Airport.
Cloncurry now services the sheep and cattle properties in the surrounding district and is an important sales centre for sheep, cattle and horses. The township's infrastructure provides residents with excellent sport, recreational, education, health and indigenous support facilities.
Attractions include Mary Kathleen Memorial Park and Museum, which houses history and memorabilia on Cloncurry, Mary Kathleen and the surrounding district. The Burke and Wills history display is another attraction, including Burke's water bottle in the Explorers' Corner.
About the Opportunity
IES Resources has a number of positions for Roadtrain and MC Drivers to live and work in Cloncurry (and other locations as positions arise).
The roles require experienced drivers who are able to adapt to challenging road conditions. Candidates will be MC Licensed and have at least two years' B double experience, plus preferably also hold a Front End Loader Operator ticket.
Ideally, you will be a quad driver with side tipper experience (please note - for some positions, triple experience is sufficient). All drivers must have, or be able to pass, a truck medical, including regular drug testing.
You will be working on a variety of rosters and IES drivers regularly earn in excess of $80,000 and, depending on rosters, $100,000+.
Working conditions at IES Resources are excellent, and your safety is paramount. The organisation values its talented, experienced team highly, and operates a TFMS (fatigue management) system. Drivers with a TFMS qualification are encouraged to apply for Charters Towers-based positions.
Immediate vacancies exist for skilled drivers based in Cloncurry. Positions in other locations may arise in the coming month, so if any of these locations suit you, please indicate in your application.
IES will provide you with generous subsidised accommodation (dependent on location). Remuneration will be $80K+ up to over $100K, dependent on your shifts.
IES will also provide you with a return airfare to one of various Queensland destinations every three months.
