About the Opportunity

DDACL has an exciting opportunity available for a Social and Community Services Manager to join their exciting organisation in Dandenong, Vic working on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be primarily coordinating and optimising the effectiveness of all the activities and programs funded by the Department of Human Services Victoria (DHHS) and other agencies of the organisation

 Key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing support in the coordinating and development of the DHHS and other agency programs;
  • Researching and analysing community issues or needs and managing the funding submissions and program implementation strategies;
  • Identifying the need for new programs or projects;
  • Ensuring the program Coordinators/Team Leader are able to function effectively; and
  • Delivering a high level of support to the day-to-day management of the organisation and provide essential support to the community.

About You

The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Social Work or a similar discipline in addition to sufficient experience in a management or leadership position. While not essential, case management experience would be highly regarded.

Your excellent communication skills will ensure your ability to work with Aboriginal communities and their leaders. You will develop and maintain synergy with management and work as a valued part of the Executive Management Team to achieve strategic goals. 

DDACL are looking for a flexible individual who is committed to respecting traditional culture, values and 'ways of doing business'. Time management skills are also very important in this role as is the ability to work within a team environment as you determine the program's priorities and assess your workload in order to best achieve results.  

The successful candidate will need to hold a current, unrestricted Drivers Licence, as well as undergo a Police check and Working with Children check.
