About the Organisation

Lung Foundation Australia is a national, not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Their vision is to ensure that lung health is a priority for all in Australia and to promote lung health by:

  • Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
  • Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
  • Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
  • Raising funds for medical and scientific research.

The Lung Foundation Australia nationally employs about 25 professional/administrative staff, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.

About the Opportunity

Lung Foundation Australia is now seeking a proactive and creative Corporate Partnership Manager to join their dedicated team in on a full-time basis.

This is a new national role that will be joining the recently established Sydney office, commencing in March 2019. Reporting to the General Manager Development, you will primarily be responsible for driving diversity of fundraising income streams and creating sustainable growth in corporate partnerships outside the pharmaceutical sector.

You will also be responsible for leading the fundraising team in developing the Lung Foundation Gala Research Dinner, now in its seventh year, to continue to grow in size, prominence and return on investment. 

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Working with GMD and the fundraising and communications team to develop and implement plans to significantly grow and build the Foundation's corporate partnerships;
  • Managing, sustaining and nurturing existing partnerships through exceptional customer service and build building mutually beneficial engagement plans that inspire ongoing support and growth;
  • Cultivating new corporate partnerships, developing proposals, delivering pitches, overseeing partnership agreements and engaging existing and new partners in Lung Foundation team events; and
  • Representing Lung Foundation Australia at various events and activities as a Lung Foundation speaker and brand ambassador as required, on occasion out of hours or on the weekend.

About You

To be considered for this role you must possess proven experience in account/relationship management with an excellent understanding of how the corporate world can be involved in fundraising/charity activities.

Your ability to create and grow internal and external relationships to the point where key accounts and stakeholders are inspired to enthusiastically get involved in supporting the Foundation will be crucial to your success, as will your ability to manage, track and achieve financial targets.

This role will require a proactive and creative approach in developing partnership opportunities with corporate stakeholders, requiring significant research in order to build relationships from common ground in order to increase participation in donation and team events.

Due to the nature of this role, it is imperative you be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines. Experience in Salesforce specifically or other cloud-based CRM generally will be advantageous.

Tertiary qualifications in fundraising, business, marketing, communications or similar will be highly regarded, as will demonstrated experience in business development and/or corporate social responsibility strategies within the profit for purpose sector.

Please note: This role will require the successful candidate to travel regularly in order to fulfil operational requirements for up to 2 weeks of every month. A current, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence will be required, as will access to your own vehicle when in Sydney.
