About the Opportunity
Parkside now has a unique full-time opportunity for an Electrician to join their Hardwood Saw milling division. This role will be primarily based at the Wandoan Mill, with regular, weekly travel to the Theodore Mill also required. Wandoan and Theodore are both located in central Queensland, approximately 1.5 to 2 hours drive apart.
Ideally the successful candidate will base themselves permanently in Wandoan, however accommodation is available at both sites and can be utilised for candidates considering drive-in, drive-out options.
Reporting to the Mill Managers, this is a critical role providing break-down repairs, preventative maintenance and project/improvement works. You will be working on a broad range of plant machinery including agricultural equipment; water and waste water treatment; materials handling process machines and high-tech automation.
Some of your other daily duties will include:
- Providing repair/maintenance services for any office electrical issues;
- Consumables and parts purchasing;
- Maintenance of the MSDS register and dangerous and hazardous substances register, involved with electrical work; and
- Providing backup support for maintenance roles if/as required.

About You
To be considered for this position you will hold a current, Queensland Electrical Trade Certificate and demonstrated experience conducting electrical work in a manufacturing/production and/or industrial environment. Any experience working specifically within a hardwood/saw milling environment will be very highly regarded, but is not mandatory. A current C Class Driver's License is also a must.
You will have strong skills in trouble-shooting and show initiative in preventative maintenance and fault finding activities. As you will be working across two sites, a level of flexibility and the ability to work autonomously will be key to your success in this role.
Importantly, you will be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that can experience high-noise, dust and high summer temperatures.
