Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is a community controlled Health Organisation.

The Sunrise approach involves community people taking part in controlling their own health. Everything from financial management and governance, staff selection and service delivery priorities are directed by the organisation's Aboriginal Board and Community Health Committees.

Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation works in partnership with Northern Territory PHN (NT PHN), who provide support services to health professionals and organisation across the Northern Territory. 

About the Opportunity

Sunrise Health Service now has a great career opportunity for a Finance and Payroll Officer to join their Finance team on a full-time, 6-month fixed term basis.

Reporting to the Acting Finance Coordinator, this role will be responsible for the preparation of payable and receivable functions and perform a variety of tasks within the Finance section including staff payroll related duties and other financial entitlements.

Your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to): 

  • Assisting with preparation of Fortnightly Payroll related duties;
  • Entering, processing, reconciling and/or following up all Supplier and Customer tax invoices on a timely basis;
  • Processing daily banking transactions for Directs Debits and Debtor Direct receipts;
  • Maintaining and processing all Petty cash requests and reconciling monthly;
  • Communicating with suppliers and customers and resolving any disputes; and
  • Processing employee travel allowances, reimbursements and other payments as required.

To be considered for this position you will have demonstrated experience in processing Accounts payable and receivable, with experience processing payroll and comfortable working to tight deadlines.

You will be a fast learner, with good computer literacy (particularly with Excel spreadsheets). Importantly, you will be accepting of Aboriginal people and have the ability to practice in a sensitive and culturally safe manner. 

Please note: You must hold a current Australian drivers licence.
