About the Opportunity

Beairsto & Associates Engineering Ltd. is currently seeking a committed and adaptable Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead its growing Engineering department in Grande Prairie, AB.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for end to end Mechanical System(s) building design and for providing design updates and participating in the assignment of work to optimize skills sets and ensure project timelines are maintained.

Please note that a remote work option will be offered for the first 6 months of this role if relocation is necessary for the successful candidate. 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Quality Assurance Inspections, including plan review(s)/ redesign
  • Data management for designs and inspections and approvals in virtual/hard copy file format(s) to ensure compliance with the PPMP, APEGBC, and APEGA for the organization
  • Defining the scope of various projects as assigned
  • Addressing client issues as required within the scope of the project and with 3rd Party resources
  • Preparing drawing sets for permitting and construction
  • Overseeing data processing as required, and review completed field work to ensure the quality and scope of the work meets and/or exceeds professional standards
  • Supporting ongoing process improvement for BASE field standards and procedures, providing regular feedback to the Quality Control system(s) to ensure the best standards and results

In order to qualify for this role, you will have one or more Mechanical Engineering Degree(s) and/or Equivalencies combined with 5 or more years of relevant project oversight experience supervising Mechanical Engineering projects and managing clients.

The ideal candidate will need to have a complete working knowledge of the building codes and standards for construction of HVAC systems and plumbing design and an advanced knowledge and application of Division specific industry-related legislation and regulations.

Preferential Consideration will be given to those with a PMP designation.

The ideal candidate will also have a high level of interpersonal skills include the ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner in a business environment, skills in diplomacy, the ability to listen and provide guidance and leadership.
