About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious self-starter to join our team in the role of Outside Sales Consultant.
Working out of our offices in Fort St. John or Dawson Creek, fast-paced, retail and commercial environments, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability within a defined territory by understanding the requirements of our customers and suppliers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining business relationships with current and prospective customers within an assigned territory to generate new business for Pat's Auto Supply;
- Visiting and presenting to existing and prospective customers;
- Using innovative thinking and researching sources for developing prospective qualified customers and driving new business;
- Expediting resolution of customer problems and complaints;
- Coordinating sales efforts with marketing, sales management and accounting, including following up on accounts receivable;
- Maintaining and submitting accurate call records on a daily basis;
- Attending weekly and annual sales meetings
- Working every second Saturday on the parts counter;
- Keeping abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, advertising and promotional trends to maintain a competitive advantage within the industry;
As a consummate relationship builder, you are experienced in selling high quality parts and services and have a proven track record of achieving results. To succeed in this role, you will need excellent time and territory management abilities along with superior listening and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of automotive parts is strongly preferred.
Professionally presented, you are an effective communicator who is enthusiastic and comfortable making cold calls to prospective customers. Your fresh and innovative thinking is supported by computer proficiency (CRM) and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Your positive attitude is ideally coupled with flexibility to provide parts counter coverage and occasionally make emergency deliveries to customers when needed.
In this role, you will need to be physically fit and able to carry up to 60 lbs for short distances. A valid driver's licence, reliable transportation capable of hauling heavy loads, a clear driver's abstract and clean criminal record are also required.
Lastly, you will do well in this role if you are a true people person with an insatiable desire to succeed.
