About the Organisation
Lung Foundation Australia is a national, not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Their vision is to ensure that lung health is a priority for all in Australia and to promote lung health by:
- Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
- Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
- Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
- Raising funds for medical and scientific research.
The Lung Foundation Australia nationally employs about 25 professional/administrative staff, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
About the Opportunity
Lung Foundation Australia is now seeking a creative Events Coordinator to join their dedicated team in their Sydney office on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the General Manager - Development and working in conjunction with the whole Lung Foundation team your focus in this role is to lead the development, coordination, management and implementation of a range of key annual and ad-hoc events.
These events include the prestigious biennial Lung Cancer Conference, the annual fundraising Gala Dinner and a number of smaller professional education events held across Australia.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include:
- Developing, producing and delivering projects from proposal to execution;
- Delivering events on time, within budget, that meet and exceed expectations;
- Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project;
- Communicating, maintaining and developing client relationships, and managing supplier relationships;
- Managing operational and administrative functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently;
- Travelling to on-site inspections and project managing events; and
- Taking responsibility for all project budgets from start to finish.
About You
The successful candidate will possess significant experience in the planning/management of events of all sizes. Although not essential, qualifications in Event Management or similar will be highly regarded.
Lung Foundation Australia is looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual. You'll be a real 'people person' - always pleasant, positive, and one who thrives in networking situations. Your ability to create and build genuine relationships with venues, suppliers and businesses will be crucial.
You will be self-motivated and thrive in an autonomous environment, while still able to work collaboratively with others.
Due to the nature of this role, it is imperative you be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines while remaining calm and unfazed.
Experience with Office 365 and Salesforce (or similar CRM) would put you at a distinct advantage.

Please Note: This role will require the successful candidate to be willing to work flexible hours as required, however TOIL arrangements are available for overtime or weekend work that may be required of you.
