It's an exciting time to join Hanson, a thriving business looking for new Trainee Drivers to become part of their team.

This is a rare offering for women who are seeking to get their foot in the door of the transport industry. Hanson is offering a high quality heavy vehicle licensing program in order to encourage increased levels of gender diversity within their Driver workforce.

What does this opportunity include?

  • A four-week intensive Driver training course to obtain your Heavy Rigid License (for which you will be paid)
  • Immediate full-time employment as a Trainee Truck Driver on the Ryan Corner Wind Farm Project
  • All uniforms and safety equipment provided
  • Female mentor support

Once training is complete you will work for around 9 months as a trainee concrete agitator truck driver on the Ryan Corner Wind Farm Project at Orford, approximately 35 minutes west of Warrnambool. After the project there will be ongoing work at our concrete plants in Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton or Terang.

The four-week course will take place in and around Warrnambool and will be a blend of classroom and driving a concrete agitator truck under instruction. 

All roles will be based in Warrnambool, and the four-week course will take place across Warrnambool, The 4 week training course will blend both classroom and practical, hands on driving training elements. 

These positions are only available to female applicants. This recruitment initiative qualifies as a 'special measure' under section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic). 

Is this the role for you?

No truck driving experience or truck licenses are required for this position, as full training will be provided. However, here is what you will need to be considered:

  • To have held an Australian Driver's License for a minimum of 2 years (automatic or manual)
  • To be able to pass a pre-employment commercial driver medical which includes a drug test
  • To be able to meet the VicRoads criteria for licensing which includes signing a declaration about medication, interlock devices and outstanding fines or disqualifications

Strong communication skills and commitment to providing great customer service are also required.

Please Note:

  • To be considered for these positions, you must be available to attend an assessment day on 30th March, medical screening the first week of April, and to begin the course on 13th April.
  • The course is full-time and it is expected you enter the training period with the same commitment you have to full-time employment.
  • Candidates who already possess an HR License will not be eligible for this opportunity.
