About the Organisation

The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is the national peak body representing health care professionals in diabetes education, management and care. They are also the regulatory body for Credentialed Diabetes Educators (CDEs).

ADEA is located in Canberra and leads and advocates for best practice in diabetes education and care nationally. As a member organisation, they provide leadership and support for health care professionals who practice within the specialty field of diabetes education and care. About the Opportunity

The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) now has a rewarding opportunity for an Education Project Officer to join the Professional Services and Education team based in Canberra, ACT. This position is offered as a part-time contract until the 30 June 2020, with the possibility of an extension based on funding.

Reporting to the Professional Services and Education Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing projects and establishing and managing expert advisory groups and key stakeholders.

Some of your more specific duties may include (but will not be limited to):

  • Develop and maintain collaborative and constructive relationships with stakeholders;
  • Contribute to the development of project plans;
  • Develop and implement the projects and evaluate as required, adhering to approved project plans including deliverables and timelines;
  • Establish and coordinate reference and working groups as required;
  • Monitor agreements with subcontractors and report on performance and agreed outcomes; and
  • Report regularly to the Professional Services and Education Manager about progress and timelines on each project.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the development and review of adult-learning course content and education material. You will also need to hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field or have relevant demonstrated experience.

Well- developed oral and written communication skills are a must as well as high level interpersonal and communication skills.

Your ability to demonstrate sound judgement in dealing with complex issues, high level research and analytical skills your ability to work effectively in a small team as well as autonomously will be highly desired. 

Importantly, you will a high level skill set in managing committees.

Please note: Some ongoing travel will be required.
