About the Opportunity

RANT now has a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Manager - Couple and Family Counselling Service to join their team. This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Darwin, NT.

Working within the Family and Relationships Services project, this management position is responsible for the operational and clinical oversight of the Family and Relationships Services team and program. This includes managing a team of 6 full time equivalents, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality of the clinical services are developed and maintained, and meeting the diverse and changing needs of RANT’s clients.

Key accountabilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Maintaining your own client caseload (up to 2 days per week) in accordance with RANT’s needs and priorities;
  • Assisting the Director in delivering change management to develop and improve practice;
  • Briefing the Director on all aspects of the FaRS program including any identified risks to the organisation;
  • Overseeing the provision of quality services to clients and customers via staff supervision, line management and program facilitation; and 
  • Accurately tracking performance and ensuring budgets, targets and KPI’s are met.

About You

To be considered for this position, you must hold tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or equivalent, and be eligible for APS, AASW or other equivalent professional registration.

Due to the nature of the role, experience in couple or family therapy, counselling, group work and trauma informed practice is required. 

As this is a management role, you will need to be able to demonstrate experience in the management of staff including recruitment, retention and industrial relations issues, as well as proven leadership and team development skills. In addition, you will possess the ability to manage a range of diverse projects.

Importantly, RANT is looking for someone with the ability to undertake professional and community liaison work, including networking within the community and with service providers and government agencies.

Please note: Appointment to this position will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and possession of the Northern Territory Working with Children (Ochre) Card. You will also require a current, open Driver's License.
