Carnarvon Christian School is located in the coastal horticultural and fishing town of Carnarvon 900km north of Perth. The region is famous for its year round mild climate and its position, within a half day’s drive of the World heritage area of Shark Bay and the beautiful Ningaloo reef. The school buildings are nestled amongst 5.7 hectares of natural bushland and grassed areas. The air-conditioned classrooms are extremely well resourced. About the Opportunity
Carnarvon Christian School now has a rewarding opportunity for a Primary School Teacher to join their school on a part-time basis. This role is based in picturesque Carnarvon, Western Australia.
This role will see you primarily responsible for overseeing the curriculum planning, implementation of learning programs and the provision of the primary well-being for the students in your care.
Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Selecting, modifying and developing curricula and teaching materials for use, in co-operation with the community;
- Providing effective on-going evaluation of teaching and learning approaches as well as individual student progress as directed by the Principal and School Board;
- Working effectively with other teaching staff to maintain a positive, whole school approach to behaviour management; and
- implementing innovative teaching and learning principles in the classroom.
Please note: The successful candidate will need to hold (or be willing to obtain) a Working with Children Check and a National Police Check.
About you
The successful candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Teaching, and hold (or be eligible to obtain) registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia. Recent graduates who have the passion to learn and create change are encouraged to apply.
You will have knowledge of and the ability to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes to establish a challenging learning environment in which students are encouraged to work towards attainment of their potential. Well-developed interpersonal skills in relation to collaborating with colleagues, young people and parents will also be required.
You are expected to be enthusiastic, dedicated to the children and possess a passion for learning. Additionally, you will be autonomous and proactive, and work well in a team; as all of the work is collaborative, reflective, and ever-changing.
As well as the above, you will be able to demonstrate an exemplary Christian lifestyle and be an active Christian, regularly attending your local church.
