The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) helps protect the health and safety of the community by promoting high quality standards for nursing and midwifery accreditation. ANMAC also assess the skills of nurses and midwives who want to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration category.

ANMAC has been contracted to provide executive and secretariat support to the Australasian Osteopathic Accreditation Council (AOAC).

About the Opportunity

ANMAC has a newly created opportunity for a Professional Services Officer - Nursing and Midwifery to join their team in Canberra, on a full-time basis.

Working within the Office of the CEO, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-level project and administrative support to the CEO of ANMAC.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Leading, managing and undertaking complex professional project work and coordinating activities in the delivery of strategic projects for ANMAC;
  • Undertaking the development of project business plans, and project plans in accordance with ANMAC’s project management framework;
  • Preparing complex discussion papers, guidelines, and advisory documents;
  • Building and maintaining positive consultative relationships with stakeholders and information networks to ensure the delivery of agreed outcomes; and
  • Actively participating in and contributing to the principles and practices of ANMAC Work Health and Safety and workplace diversity.

The Professional Services Officer - Nursing and Midwifery will also be providing advice to the CEO and all members of ANMAC in regards to nursing and midwifery from a clinical services background.

About You

To be considered for this position you must have previous experience as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife and hold a current AHPRA registration. An understanding of the health and education department environment in Australia will be beneficial for this role as well as experience in academia and a knowledge or understanding of Nursing Practitioner Regulation National Law.

Ideally, you will have previous experience in a policy role as well as demonstrated experience in project management. You will also have knowledge and understanding of contemporary project management practices and the ability to manage these projects across the organisation.

High level written and analytical skills are important in this role as you will be creating project work, discussion papers and advisory documents. Sound liaison and oral communication skills, with an ability to negotiate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and advise on complex matters to non-specialists is also integral to this role.

Importantly, ANMAC is looking for someone who is well-polished, highly professional and can demonstrate maturity and discretion whilst dealing with confidential documentation. Your capacity to plan, organise, schedule and deliver within a set time frame in a changing environment is a necessity in this role. Critical to your success will be strong time management and organisational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
