About the Opportunity

Link Housing is currently seeking a Community Housing Programs Officer (Indigenous Identified) to join their team in Sydney. 

The Community Housing Programs Officer (Indigenous Identified) is required to work closely with all teams in Link Housing to ensure progress and success of related projects and programs. The role works closely with Indigenous and non-Indigenous tenants, other Link Housing Teams, and all areas of the business. Reporting directly to the Community Programs Lead, some of your key accountabilities will include (but not be limited to): 

  • Implementing and maintaining community partnership projects and indigenous development programs;
  • Ensuring that community and partnership initiatives are relevant based on data collected from community profiles and tenant feedback;
  • Establishing partnerships with organisations who provide services to support our indigenous tenants' development;
  • Supporting the elevation of Link's profile through such activities as; attending and speaking at relevant forums, assisting in the completion and submission of award nominations, and promoting programs to internal and external stakeholders, and;
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and demonstrating the success of partnerships and community programs through the use of KPI’s 

This is a highly practical and multifaceted role within Link Housing that will see you supporting the long-term sustainability and growth of Link Housing’s community and partnership strategy.  

About You

To be considered for this position, you MUST be an Indigenous Australian, hold an NSW Driver's license and have at least three years experience in relationship management and/or community development, engagement and sustainment.

The ideal candidate will be strategically minded; able to assess and demonstrate the effectiveness of the programs they are responsible for, and willing to act upon opportunities for improvements. In order to deliver the best possible outcomes for all stakeholders, you will be familiar with core business practices such as change management, project management and, while there are no specific software competencies required, you will have a good aptitude for technology.  

As the role will require you to interact with a variety of audiences from all walks of life, it is essential that you have a dynamic communication style. You will need to be able to engage with tenants in a way that is personable, respectful and empathetic while also being comfortable participating in formal conversations with high-level stakeholders. Additionally, you will have excellent written communication skills, good attention to detail and take pride in your work. 

Finally, the varied nature of the duties this role comprises will require excellent time-management and organisational skills.
