About Katherine High School
Servicing a region larger than the state of Victoria, Katherine High School (KHS) is a comprehensive high school located in Katherine East. Students come from a diverse range of socio-economic levels and backgrounds and, of their 540 total enrolments, the school has an indigenous population of 61%.
With spacious grounds and excellent facilities, including basketball, tennis and netball courts, a large air conditioned gymnasium, and specialist learning areas for Art, Hospitality, Technology, Science and Music; they are well equiped to support students in a wide variety of areas and interests. Additionally, thanks to the Katherine region's stunning natural environment, they are able to offer a highly successful and well supported Outdoor Education program to their Senior Years students.

About the Opportunity
Katherine High School is currently looking for an Upper Primary or High School qualified Teacher to join their team in Katherine East, NT.
This role will see you teaching General Mathematics to High School Students, as well as Middle School Maths and Science, with a focus on working with students who have diverse learning needs.
To be successful, you will be a fully qualified Teacher who holds, or is eligible to obtain, registration to teach in the Northern Territory.
It's essential that you are comfortable supporting students from a range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and are able to adapt your approach to the needs of each individual. Any experience working with disengaged youth, or indigenous or ESL students will be highly regarded.
Strong interpersonal skills will be crucial, including the ability to effectively communicate with, motivate and inspire students, and to develop effective working relationships with parents, senior management and staff.
Importantly, KHS is looking for someone who is resilient and committed to closing the gap in indigenous education, genuinely invested in making a positive impact on the students in their care.

Relocation expenses will be covered for candidates coming from outside the Katherine region, and an additional relocation allowance will be provided.
