About the Opportunity

Robinson College is excited to offer the position of Chief Executive Officer to the market. Based in Broken Hill NSW, this is a full-time position encompassing all aspects of the College.

Reporting to the Board of Directors and leading a small team, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for all aspects of Robinson College operations, financial sustainability, human resources, governance and management, with a strong focus on advocacy in the education services sector, and within the Broken Hill community.

This role requires an exceptional leader to manage the organisation within the social and economic context in which the organisation operates. You will ensure Robinson College maintains its position as a respected leader in the delivery of education services to communities across Broken Hill.

Key accountabilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Identifying and managing operational and corporate risks for the organisation and formulating strategies for managing and mitigating those risks for consideration and endorsement by the Board;
  • Keeping the organisation’s vision and values at the forefront of strategic decision making and action planning, and fostering a success orientated and positive culture of continuous improvement;
  • Providing effective management in all areas of activity, including compliance, budgeting and financial management, outcomes required by the relevant authorities and government agencies, any collaborative ventures, governance responsibilities, commercial or social enterprises in which the organisation is engaged;
  • Developing and strengthening effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the goals of Robinson College, advancing the interests of the organisation, and assisting in the wider provision of the services, especially in collaboration with external organisations; and
  • Overseeing teacher compliance and meeting the ethical standards of the organisation.

About You

To be successful, you will have experience managing vocational education at a senior management level. Alternatively, you will have similar management experience within an established business or a comparable part of an organisation.

Experience in governance, compliance, financial management, in particular with funding submissions and managing budgets for a similar sized organisation is highly desirable.

You will hold a relevant Bachelor degree or Cert IV in a VET related discipline with the demonstrated ability to gain the contemporaneous organisational knowledge to drive the organisation into the future.

As you will play a pivotal role in setting the direction for the organisation, this position demands an organised and hands on approach. This will be underpinned by strong leadership skills, innovative thinking, high level integrity and approachability.
