About the Opportunity
In the midst of an exciting growth phase, Distribution Power Design now has an opportunity for a dynamic Lighting & Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Warradale, SA on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Managing Director/s, this is a specialised role where you will be responsible for designing, preparing estimates and managing lighting & electrical infrastructure projects.
Some of your key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
- Developing detailed street (council/private) and road lighting (DPTI) designs;
- Designing underground electrical reticulations for residential and industrial developments (URD & UID);
- Surveying and providing work estimates on electrical distribution infrastructure projects;
- Liaising with Councils, Government Authorities, Private Sector Companies and other stakeholders on programming and designs;
- Utilising computer-aided design techniques and software, including AutoCAD, AGi32 & PowerCad-5;
- Drafting and/or managing your designs within the DPD CAD Drafting Team; and
- Ensuring work undertaken complies with project specification & relevant Australian Standards – in particular AS1158 & AS3000, as well as OH&S regulations and Quality Systems procedures.
About You
To be successful in this position you will have experience in road lighting design, with relevant qualifications in electrical engineering. Civil engineering qualifications will also be highly regarded provided you have demonstrated lighting design experience.
In addition, you will need to have a strong understanding of and ability to use the design software systems AGi32 and AutoCad, with exposure to PowerCad-5 seen as highly desirable.
You will be adaptable and able to adhere to strict deadlines and time pressures, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Personable and capable of influencing outcomes, you will be confident in travelling to physical sites and engaging in constructive conversations with a range of different customers and clients.
This role would be well suited to someone with previous experience working in a design office environment and who is comfortable representing DPD outside of office and building relationships with external stakeholders.
