About the Opportunity
Brown Contractors now has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer (Civil) to join their team in Toowoomba, QLD on a permanent, full time basis.
Reporting to the Head Engineer of the project, this role is primarily responsible for providing civil engineering advice and administrative support to the project team and ensuring compliance across relevant quality, safety and environmental requirements.
Key duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Ensuring quality, safety and environmental outcomes are in line with company objectives and industry best practice;
- Coordinating subcontract resources, negotiating rates and ensuring subcontractors and suppliers are compliant with relevant requirements;
- Assisting with the compilation of claims, estimations and tenders; and
- Attending TMR meetings and preparing monthly TMR reports.
This is a full time role that will require you to work 5-6 days a week. Accommodation and meal allowances will be provided for the duration of the working week for those travelling from outside of Toowoomba.
About You
Brown Contractors are seeking an experienced engineering all rounder with previous exposure to Transport and Main Roads (TMR) or similar projects. Registered Professional Engineer of QLD (RPEQ) registration will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have a high attention to detail, particularly in relation to quality and safety compliance. You will need to have the ability to work independently and under pressure, taking direction from the Head Engineer.
The successful applicant will have strong organisational and time management skills, using your judgement to prioritise jobs and multitask across the project. Importantly, you will be a confident communicator who is able to build professional relationships with various stakeholders throughout the organisation - a good sense of humour is a must!
Please note: You will need to hold a current, unrestricted Australian manual driver's license.
