About the Opportunity

Hynes Legal is now looking for a Accounts/Office Support Officer to join their team on a part-time basis, working flexible hours of 9am - 3pm.

A newly created role, you'll have a mix of accounts and office support responsibilities. Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Preparing and finalising client invoices;
  • Managing the firm’s debtor process;
  • Daily receipting and banking;
  • Being the first point of contact for existing and new client enquiries;
  • Compiling financial reports on a weekly, end of month and end of year basis;
  • Liaising with the firm’s external accountant;
  • Handling trust account records, statements, deposits, transfers and receipting in line with the Queensland Law Society’s trust account guidelines;
  • Preparing for and attending annual trust audits; and
  • Monitoring email inboxes, as well as processing incoming and outgoing mail.

About You

To be successful, you will need demonstrated experience in accounts, ideally in a legal or trust related role, with a comprehensive understanding of the Queensland Law Society’s trust account guidelines, or the ability to learn this.

A genuine self-starter, you'll need to be comfortable working autonomously and take real pride in your work, committed to getting things done right, and able to identify ways to improve or streamline processes, with an understanding of best practice. Ideally you will have a strong inclination toward innovation and would enjoy being part of a changing an industry for the better.

Well developed interpersonal and communication skills will be key to your success, allowing you to work effectively with both clients and staff, whether they're at the office or working remotely. 

You will need strong organisational skills to handle a wide array of both digital and physical documents, and be proficient in a range of basic computer software. Previously experience with LawMaster or a similar system will be highly regarded.

In return for your hard work, expertise, and dedication, you will be rewarded with an attractive base salary circa $65,000 - $75,000 (pro-rata) including super.
