About the Opportunity
Purcell’s now has an exciting opportunity for a Machine Shop Estimator / Planner. This integral role is responsible for estimating projects based on engineering drawings and providing accurate costing back to our clients.
You will liaise with the workshop supervisor and clients to ensure client delivery dates are achieved, and be responsible for ordering materials, planning projects, and visiting client sites to gain an understanding of project scopes.
Working with the Manager and the Managing Director, you will also conduct ongoing reviews of completed jobs, ensuring that the quality, price, and delivery meet high standards.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in customer-facing roles, and the ability to communicate and plan effectively with both customers and internal supervisors, providing a high level of service every time.
You will also be familiar with Microsoft Excel and other estimating systems such as Job Commander & Work Flow Max, as well as the ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the ordering and delivery of materials and services on a tight schedule and consider key delivery dates, as time management is a critical skill for this role.
Previous experience in the engineering sector will be highly regarded, as will a relevant trade or diploma. Previous experience with fitting and turning/CNC, AutoCAD, or the mining industry would also be beneficial.
This is an integral position where you will be part of a close-knit, dedicated team. Purcell's offers a family friendly, flexible workplace and would be well suited to a personable and self-motivated team player.
This role would ideally suit someone living locally in the Gladstone area, however relocation assistance is negotiable for the right candidate.
