Due to our ongoing success we are seeking electrical power engineers for our engineering team in the Ipswich office.
About the opportunity
MPA Engineering currently has opportunities available for both a Senior Electrical Power Engineer & a Junior Electrical Power Engineer to work on a full-time basis in Ipswich, QLD.
In both roles you will be working as part of a small team and reporting to the Principal Engineer.
In the Senior Electrical Power Engineer Role you will be responsible for a number of duties including:
- Performing power system analysis;
- Performing detailed design for LV power system;
- Preparing technical specifications;
- Being able to deliver projects independently;
- Signing off project deliverables as the supervising RPEQ; and
- Providing guidance for engineering design to junior engineers
In the Junior Electrical Power Engineer role you will be responsible for a number of key duties including:
- Performing power system analysis;
- Performing detailed design for LV power system;
- Preparing technical specifications;
- Supporting senior electrical engineer in managing project delivery; and
- Occasional site visits.
About you
To be considered for the Junior position you will need to at least possess an Electrical Engineering Qualification/Degree, preferably 1-2 years experience in power systems analysis, the ability to write technical reports & plans and also a good knowledge of Excel, Word & Project. You will also be an enthusiastic professional who has a keen interest in the industry and the desire to develop a career.
The essential requirements that you will need in the senior role also include a minimum of 5 years experience as a power systems engineer, the ability to develop complex power system models in SKM PTW, ETAP and Powercad software, knowledge of AS3000, AS3008 and AS3010. You will also need an RPEQ or the ability to obtain an RPEQ. In conjunction with these qualifications, it is also essential that you are a diligent and detail minded worker who holds the ability to work both autonomously and within a team with well-rounded interpersonal skills allowing you to communicate effectively with both team members and clients. It is also crucial for the growth of the organisation that you can mentor junior team members.
