About the Organisation
Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (SHS) is a Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides services to nine individual remote communities in the eastern Katherine region.
The Sunrise approach involves community people taking part in controlling their own health. Everything from financial management and governance, staff selection and service delivery priorities are directed by the organisation's Aboriginal Board and Community Health Committees.
Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation works in partnership with Northern Territory PHN (NT PHN), who provide support services to health professionals and organisations across the Northern Territory.
About the Opportunity
These roles are being offered on a permanent full-time basis.
There is also opportunity to become a GP supervisor, providing mentorship and support to GP registrars, if this should be of interest.
To be considered, you must have the following:
- Registration as a General Practitioner with AHPRA;
- Broad based experience in primary healthcare appropriate to working in a rural/remote location;
- Experience working within an Aboriginal health, or cross-cultural setting; and
- An understanding and commitment to the principles of Aboriginal Community Control in primary healthcare delivery.
Importantly, SHS is looking for flexible individuals who are able to adapt their care to meet the specific needs of each patient, while maintaining organisational guidelines (and the Dundee spirit!).
