We are offering a rare opportunity and a high-quality heavy vehicle licensing program to encourage more women to join the transport industry.
Our program includes a five-week training course, blending classroom and practical, hands-on driving training elements. We will also help you get your HR license! After you complete the course, roles will be available in the following locations:

- Artarmon
- Banksmeadow

Please also note that Hanson drivers are generally unaffected by lockdown orders, so you will be joining an organisation that can provide stability and longevity for your career.
Under the provision of section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977n (NSW), an exemption is given from sections 25, and 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) to Hanson Construction Materials Pty Ltd to advertise, designate and recruit up to 20 truck drivers positions per year for women only.
What you will bring to the team
We are looking for passionate women who are confident and excited to take on a new challenge. No truck licenses are required for this position! We will provide you with all the training and support for you to get an HR license. However, this is what we need from you:
- Hold an Australian Driver’s License for a minimum of 2 years (automatic or manual)
- Pass a pre-employment commercial driver medical which includes a drug test
- Be able to meet the criteria for licensing, which includes signing a declaration about medical, interlock devices and outstanding fines and disqualifications
To succeed, you will need to be an individual who can work well under pressure and remain calm and optimistic during challenging situations. When driving, circumstances will sometimes change without notice, and the best drivers can make these changes in their stride and respond rationally.
You will also have a strong focus on safety procedures, have excellent time management skills, and be able to follow regulations, and legal obligations.
Moreover, you will build strong working relationships with others, communicate in a friendly way and provide a high level of customer service when visiting sites.
