With specialised expertise, DPD can add value to a customer’s project by incorporating their knowledge into other facets, including road and street lighting and electrical system design beyond the SA Power Networks service point.

About the Opportunity

In the midst of an exciting growth phase, Distribution Power Design now has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Adelaide, SA on a full-time basis.

Reporting to DPD management, you will design and manage a range of electrical reticulation infrastructure projects, including preparing design and construction budget estimates.

Core duties:

  • Underground HV & LV reticulation design for land developments (URD & UID) - SA Power Networks standard.
  • Spot load HV & LV reticulation design - SA Power Networks standard.
  • Overhead power line design (AS7000) - SA Power Networks standard.
  • Street and road lighting design (AS1158) - SA Power Networks/Council standard & DIT standard.
  • Evaluate and provide work estimates on electrical distribution infrastructure projects.
  • Liaise with Government Authorities and Private Sector Companies on design and programming.
  • Utilise computerised design techniques.
  • Ensure works undertaken complies to project specification.
  • Comply with all Quality Systems procedures and regulations.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have significant industry experience, with a relevant qualification in electrical engineering. In addition, you will have a strong understanding of and ability to use the design software systems AGi32, AutoCAD, and PLS-CADD with exposure to PowerCAD-5 seen as highly desirable.

You will be adaptable and able to adhere to strict deadlines and time pressures, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Personable and capable of influencing outcomes, you will be confident in travelling to physical sites and collaborating with a range of different customers and clients.

This role would be well suited to someone who is self-driven and confident in their ability to deliver high-quality results, with a wealth of experience and skills to assist in mentoring the younger members of the DPD team.
