About the Opportunity
The Village Retirement Group now has a newly available opportunity for an Assistant Village Manager to join their team. An opportunity exists at their Coorparoo village, where you will enjoy environments that boasts immaculate grounds and industry-leading facilities.
Reporting to the Village Manager, the Assistant Village Manager will be responsible for providing adequate support in executing the village's day to day operational requirements. Additionally, this is an interactive and people focused role, just as much about becoming a part of the village as it is performing practical duties. An empathetic, meticulously attentive relationship between staff and residents underpins the strong sense of community that Village Retirement Group locations enjoy. Core duties:
- Assist the Village Manager in conducting business practices that optimise resident comfort and satisfaction;
- Ensure an open channel of communication is maintained between residents and staff by attending to resident enquiries quickly and effectively;
- Assist in overseeing all village accounting processes such as obtaining quotes from external service providers, and resident accounts payable and receivable; and
- Manage and direct operations by staff and contractors in a way that is respectful, facilitates strong teamwork, and is compliant with OHS standards
About You
To be considered for this position you will need to have strong interpersonal and organisational skills. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable and outgoing, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and interactions while maintaining a caring and empathetic approach to work. No two days will be the same, so you will need to enjoy variation and working reactively to be successful in the role.
Someone who takes pride in a high level of service provision and facility maintenance will be well suited to this position. Furthermore, you must be able to field requests and enquiries from residents in a way that is empathetic and when necessary, respectful of their privacy and confidentiality. A high level of emotional intelligence will be an indispensable asset when determining the best approach toward, and communication style for, each situation.
Experience in a similar role would be ideal but, if you have demonstrated leadership experience in a customer facing industry like Hospitality..we'd love to hear from you!
Duties will include instances of both giving directions and receiving them, so it will be important to be be able to work autonomously and within a hierarchy, and to be able to shift dynamically between the two.
Please be aware of the following eligibility requirements;
- Year 12 education or higher;
- Computer literacy;
- Current First Aid certificate with CPR, and;
- Current Police/National criminal history check
