Koonambil Aged Care exists to provide high quality aged care services in a range of accommodation settings. The facility is located in Coonamble, NSW and is home to 30 residents who receive individualised care in a safe, happy and homelike environment.

Koonambil ensures that residents have their individual needs catered for and residents continue to lead a purposeful life assisted by ongoing community engagement and participation.

Koonambil has an astute volunteer base that supports the organisations attentive philosophy to all resident needs and strives to provide a caring, respectful, dignified, independent and homelike environment to all residents.

About the Opportunity

Koonambil Aged Care now has multiple permanent part-time opportunities (working up to 76 hours per fortnight) for Care Workers to join the team based in Coonamble, NSW.

You will be primarily responsible for providing appropriate personal care to all residents of Koonambil in line with the Aged Care Quality Standards.

More specifically, your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Providing quality care to residents in a kind, capable and respectful way;
  • Attending to all personal care as documented in the care plan and treatment sheets;
  • Administering medication &/or other topical preparations in a competent and safe manner as prescribed by LMO or registered nurse; 
  • Reporting any changes in residents' condition to RN on duty or Care Manager, including taking instructions from the RN or Care Manager as given; and
  • Providing personal care to assist residents to maintain independence and dignity with respect to activities of daily living and lifestyle

About You

The successful applicant will have a Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate III in Aged Care. Candidates must also possess demonstrated previous experience working as a care worker and an understanding of Infection Control, Manual Handling and WHS policies and procedures. 

In addition to the listed qualifications, you will also require an interest in working with the elderly. Demonstrating empathy and a high-level of commitment to provide the highest quality personal care.

You will need excellent time management and organisational skills in conjunction with fantastic written and oral communication skills, allowing you to work effectively as part of a collaborative team. It will also be essential that you are an autonomous worker who can uphold a positive and professional image at all times.

It is important to note that candidates who have prior experience working with MedSIG software will be highly regarded.
