About the Opportunity

Anglicare Central Queensland now has an opportunity for a Mental Health Co-ordinator to work in a full-time capacity, visiting all community locations at various times (Rockhampton, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Blackwater, Emerald, Barcaldine and Longreach).

You will be primarily responsible for the overall management of the Mental Health Programs. You will also be responsible for managing a geographically diverse team, ensuring that all accreditation is met and continuous improvement activities are appropriately progressed.

More specifically, your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Building and maintaining close liaison with stakeholders including funding providers in order to sustain effective and collaborative working relationships;
  • Assisting with the establishment and development of a strong and positive team environment to ensure excellent communication between team members;
  • Providing regular and ongoing progress reports of program activities to funding bodies and senior management; and
  • Managing work scheduling/rostering

About You

To be considered for this role it is essential that you possess a Bachelor's Degree in social or Behavioural Sciences, Social Work or Psychology (or related discipline). You will also require demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity within a similar role.

The successful candidate will have effective written and verbal communication skills, allowing them to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and stakeholders. It is also imperative that you have knowledge and understanding of Commonwealth, State and Local Government policies, programs, legal and compliance frameworks relevant to the mental health sector.

To be successful in this role a high level of drive, initiative and motivation is required in conjunction with outstanding leadership skills and a desire to work with the direction of the organisation. Solid leadership skills will allow you to build, nurture and develop strong teams while taking charge of their future direction and ensuring the team is operating to its fullest potential. 

It is important to note that candidates with lived experience will be highly valued.
