About the Opportunity

Key Assets now has a newly created opportunity for an experienced and qualified social worker to take on a Foster Care Recruitment Coordinator role across the Hunter and Central Coast. Reporting to the Recruitment Panel Manager you will be primarily responsible for the recruitment process for prospective carers and Prospective Adoptive Parents (PAP's), whilst delivering excellent customer service at all times. It is important to note that this role will involve regular travel around the community.

More specifically, your day-to-day duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Providing a timely, positive, professional and customer focused response to all initial inquiries within a 48 hour timeframe;
  • Arranging and conducting, where agreed, initial visits to prospective carers/PAP's;
  • Ensuring the timely completion of detailed reports in a timely fashion on completion of the home visit; and
  • Providing feedback to and receiving comments from other stakeholders.

About You

The successful candidate will have a Qualification in Social Work in conjunction with eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and proven experience working in a children and families setting, child protection and/or out of home care. Note that Marketing or PR knowledge will be highly regarded. 

It is imperative that you are a dedicated professional who shows initiative with the ability to work productively both autonomously and with relevant stakeholders. You will be in possession of sound IT skills and a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to children's services and a sound understanding of child safe practices and procedures. Outstanding communication skills will also be essential, allowing you to have good customer service skills and occasionally manage difficult conversations. Problem solving skills are also crucial, allowing you to work well under pressure.
