About the Opportunity
Upper Hunter Shire Council has an excellent full-time opportunity for a Hunter Warbirds Facility Manager to join the Corporate Services Department.
Reporting to the Manager of Business Services, you will be primarily responsible for implementing the Hunter Warbirds vision of becoming a nationally significant visitor attraction and a major drawcard for the Upper Hunter.
Your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to);
- Overseeing daily business operations;
- Developing and implementing growth strategies;
- Preparing and monitoring the annual budget in collaboration with the Manager of Business Services;
- Managing all staff and volunteers; and
- Generating timely and accurate reports and presenting to council

About You
The successful candidate will be in possession of a Degree in Business Management or similar in conjunction with previous experience running tourism attractions. You will also have excellent communication skills in conjunction with proven team building and leadership skills. It is essential that you are an effective problem solver who has strong commercial acumen, allowing you to draw valid conclusions in the best interests of the facility.
Furthermore, you will have the ability to work collaboratively with a strong volunteer base, coupled with an understanding of events and exhibition planning and coordination. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in income generation, allowing you the capacity to drive and deliver fresh opportunities including grants, sponsorship and other revenue streams.
Most importantly, you will have a passion for aviation and be a team-first individual who has a highly organised and reliable approach to work.
It is important to note that candidates who possess previous Local Government experience in addition to experience managing similar attractions will be highly regarded.
