About the Opportunity

Minetek has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join their team in your choice of Sydney or Singleton, NSW. With a range of exciting current projects with expansion and new projects on the horizon, this is a great time to join this market leader!

Reporting directly to the Business Manager, you will develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, ensuring Minetek achieves its ambitious sales targets.

The role will be instrumental in developing new business and securing clients within the established territory remit, whilst delivering effective client management for essential consistency of service and customer growth.

Core duties:

  • Maintain accounts, track performance and ensure that customers are receiving the best return on investment
  • Work closely with new and potential customers to understand their requirements, determine their present and future needs and propose suitable products and solutions
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Minetek's core products and services, translating these learnings to maximum effect when generating sales
  • Source new sales opportunities through effective networking, referral follow-up, outbound cold calls, emails and meetings
  • Track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives and monitoring sales metrics

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require strong business development and account management skills. You will also be an experienced salesperson, with a background in selling industrial products highly regarded. Ideally, you will also have experience in or an understanding of longer sales cycles, with client relationships building over months, and a focus on retention. 

Experience with customer relationship management software such as Hubspot or Salesforce will help you hit the ground running in your new role. It is not essential however, and training will be provided. 

Your previous experience is far less important, however, than your attitude. Minetek is seeking a self-starter who is excited to manage their own accounts, working towards ambitious and rewarding targets. 

The successful candidate will be committed to growing their career with Minetek, and will have effective written and oral communication skills when liaising with internal and external contacts, as well as the ability to work well in a team. You will also demonstrate a high level of planning and problem-solving ability.
